When African fashion takes to the catwalk in Paris at Africa Fashion Up 3

On Friday 7 July, African fashion takes centre stage at the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac in Paris. This cultural space is devoting an entire section to Africa, and it is here that designers from the continent will be gathering to present the highlights of their collections.

Following a call for applications last February, young African designers and stylists were carefully selected to take part in a support programme, including guided tours offered by the programme's official partners, such as Balenciaga and Galeries Lafayette. Thanks to training courses, coaching sessions and masterclasses, these selected designers have been preparing for several months. On 7 July, they will have the opportunity to present exclusive pieces from their collections at a fashion show organised at the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac in Paris. The designer whose profile wins over the jury will be awarded the "Designer Africa Fashion Up" prize for 2023.

The 2023 winners include Aristide Loua from Côte d'Ivoire with his brand Kente Gentleman, Yonael Marga from Ethiopia, Shamyra Moodley from South Africa, Jafaru Larry from Ghana and Ibrahim Taju from Nigeria. A constellation of African talent ready to light up the Paris fashion scene.
