Erroneous vote count casts doubt on allocation of seats: Case of Claudine Ndusi and Justin Bahirwe

The recent vote tabulation results from the elections have raised a major controversy involving Claudine Ndusi and Justin Bahirwe. An apparent error in the vote count is raising questions about the allocation of parliamentary seats, highlighting the challenges of transparency and accuracy facing the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and the Constitutional Court.

Analysis of the compilation results revealed some intriguing figures for several political groupings. For the AEDC-A, Claudine Ndusi led with 9,389 votes, closely followed by Musakamba with 208 votes, Bugale with 205 votes, and André with 197 votes, for a total of 9,999 votes.

On the other hand, group A/B50 obtained a total of 13,315 votes, divided between Justin Bahirwe (5,739 votes), Jean Pierre Bisimwa (3,884 votes), Augustin Mutabazi (3,395 votes) and Kashanvu (297 votes).

The 2A/TDC grouping also produced some notable figures, with LUBAMBIRE in the lead (8,728 votes), followed by KANDATE (2,587 votes), Patrick Mirindi (69 votes) and Mwezi Nsiku (46 votes), for a total of 11,430 votes.

These results highlight a potential material error in the vote count, raising questions about the allocation of the MP seat. According to the figures, Justin Bahirwe of A/B50 should legitimately win the seat, calling into question the position of Claudine Ndusi.

The current situation calls for an urgent correction by CENI or, if necessary, by the Constitutional Court. Supporters of truth and transparency are urged to remain mobilised until this situation is resolved. This case is a crucial reminder of the importance of accuracy and reliability in the electoral process, and underlines the importance of continued vigilance to ensure the integrity of elections.

Correcting this material error is not only crucial for the candidates concerned, but is also essential for maintaining public confidence in the electoral system. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for the perception of democracy and electoral justice in the region.
